Introduction to suspension clamps and tension clamps

Suspension clamps and tensile clamps are hardware used to fix conductors to withstand the tension of the conductors and hang the conductors to the tensile string group or tower.

info-1-1

The suspension clamp is a piece of hardware that hangs the conductor (ground) wire to the suspension insulator string (group) or fitting string (group).

Suspension clamps are common fixed products, but now U-bolt style fixed suspension type (usually called boat-type clamps) is retained, which is composed of U-bolts on the pylon and the hull. The other is the pre-twisted suspension clamp.

2 Tension Clamp

info-1-1

The tension clamp is a piece of hardware that connects the conductor (ground) wire to the tension string (group) or the hardware string (group).

Tension clamps can be roughly divided into two categories according to their different structures and installation conditions. Category 1: Tension-resistant wire clamps must withstand all the tensile force of the wire or ground wire. The clamp's holding force is not less than 90% of the rated tensile strength of the installed wire or ground wire, but it does not serve as a conductor. This type of wire clip can be removed after the wire is installed and used separately. This type of cable clamps include bolt-type tension cable clamps and wedge-type tension cable clamps. Category 2: In addition to bearing all the tensile force of the wire or ground wire, the tension clamp also serves as a conductor. Therefore, once this type of cable clamp is installed, it cannot be disassembled and is also called a dead cable clamp. Since it is a conductor, the installation of the cable clamp must be carried out carefully in compliance with the relevant installation operating procedures.
