Aerial Insulated Cable with Intermediate Strength Aluminum Alloy Conductor is mainly used for the transformation and construction of 1 kV, 10kV, 20kV and 35kV distribution network lines with large file distances or large operating stress in mountainous areas, forest areas and urban green areas.

The product is manufactured according to the standards of JB/T 13795 < Intermediate Strength Aluminum Alloy Aerial insulated cable for Rated Voltage 20 kV and Below >and IEC60502 <Extruded solid dielectric cables for rated voltages from 1 kV to 30 kV>.


Part Ⅰ: Using Characteristics

1. Rated voltage Uo/U: Up to and including 35kV

2. Conductor: Medium aluminum shaped stranded conductor

3. Insulation: PVC/PE/XLPE/HDPE

4. Max. permissible continuous operating temperature of a cable:

75℃ (HDPE insulated aerial cables)

90℃ (XLPE insulated aerial cables)

70℃ (PVC,PE insulated aerial cables)

5. Max. permissible temperature for not more than 5 seconds duration should be as follows when short-circuiting:

HDPE insulated aerial cables: 150℃

XLPE insulated aerial cables: 250℃

PVC insulated aerial cables: 160℃

PE insulated aerial cables: 130℃

6. The installation ambient temperature should be not below -20℃.

7. The bending radius of cables is recommended as follows

Cables for rated voltages 1 kV: When the diameter of cables less than 25 mm: not less than 4 times the diameter of cable; When the diameter of cables not less than 25 mm: not less than 6 times the diameter of cable;

Cables for rated voltage 10kV, 20kV and 35kV: Not less than 20 times of the diameter of cable.

Part Ⅵ: Performance Characteristics

1. Cost-effective. The cable has no steel core, USES less metal and insulating materials, is 4-10% lower than the traditional steel core aluminum stranded wire insulated wire, and the performance is superior, it is the preferred product to replace the steel core aluminum stranded wire insulated wire.


2. Small outside diameter and light weight. The medium strength aluminum alloy conductor adopts the profile structure, which makes the conductor more closely combined, with small outside diameter, small wind deflection and wind load, strong wind and ice resistance, small tower load and high line security.


3. Small sag, good fatigue and creep resistance. The conductor has high elongation, excellent resistance to fatigue and creep and excellent corrosion resistance. The cable has a large pulling force, light weight, and its sag can be reduced by 10-15% compared with the steel core and aluminum stranded wire. The safety distance to the ground is higher.


4. Easy installation. The use of ordinary insulated wire can achieve reliable installation, reduce the installation cost.
