Product Introduction

Medium voltage ABC cables, also known as insulated overhead cables, are typically 10kV and 20kV and are overhead power lines with one or more insulated phase conductors tightly bundled together. ABC cables provide greater safety and reliability, lower power losses and ultimate system economics by reducing installation, maintenance and operating costs. The system is well suited for rural distribution and is particularly suitable for installation in difficult terrain such as hilly areas, forested areas, coastal areas, etc.


The product is manufactured according to the standards of GB14049-2008 <Aerial insulated cables of rated voltages up to and including 10 kV>, Q/320282DCE047-2017< Steel cored aluminum stranded aerial insulated cables of rated voltages up to and including 20 kV >and IEC60502 <Extruded solid dielectric cables for rated voltages from 1 kV to 30 kV>.


Part Ⅰ: Operating Characteristics

1. Rated voltage Uo/U: 10 kV, 20kV.

2. Conductor: oxygen-free copper/oxygen-free aluminum/aluminum alloy

3. Insulation: PVC/PE/XLPE

4. Max. permissible continuous operating temperature of a cable:

75℃ (HDPE insulated aerial cables)

90℃ (XLPE insulated aerial cables)

5. Max. permissible temperature for not more than 5 seconds duration should be as follows when short-circuiting:

HDPE insulated aerial cables: 150℃

XLPE insulated aerial cables: 250℃

6. The installation ambient temperature should be not below -20℃.

7. The bending radius of cables is recommended as follows

Single cable: not less than 20 times of the diameter of cables;

Multi-core cable: not less than 15 times of the diameter of cable
