6 general parameters you must know when buying LED lamps

Lighting is indispensable for every family. I believe that everyone has more or less gone to the lighting market to buy lighting in life. At present, energy-saving lamps are gradually being replaced, and many countries have also banned the production and sale of incandescent lamps.

Most families have begun to use LED lighting lamps. So, as a new and rapidly popular lighting product, what parameters do we need to know before buying LED lighting lamps? Let's take a look at it together!

General professionals need to understand the driver, shell, size, luminous flux, illumination of several meters, rated power, actual power, power factor, color rendering index, color temperature, working environment temperature and light decay of the lamp. These very professional parameters do not need to be understood in detail for ordinary home users. We only need to understand some common and important parameters. Common parameters of LED lighting lamps are as follows:

1. Luminous flux of LED lighting lamps

Luminous flux: Luminous flux is a very important parameter of LED lighting lamps that we often talk about. It refers to the sum of the amount of light emitted by the light source per second. Unit: Lumen (Lm), which indicates the amount of light emitted by the luminous body. The more light it emits, the greater the number of lumens.

Note: From the figure, we can intuitively see the meaning of luminous flux. When purchasing lighting products, users can actively ask the merchant what the luminous flux of this lamp is, because this requires professional test results.

2. Color temperature of LED lighting fixtures

Color temperature: Color temperature is actually a temperature value, but it is actually an experience of the human eye's color perception of luminous objects. Let's take a specific example to distinguish. In blackbody radiation, the color of light varies with different temperatures. The blackbody presents a gradual process from red to orange-red to yellow to yellow-white to white to blue-white.

When the color of light emitted by a light source looks the same as the color of light emitted by a blackbody at a certain temperature, the temperature of the blackbody is called the color temperature of the light source. That is, what is the color of the light source, and we distinguish the color temperature based on this color.

The color temperature value is expressed in K. For users, different light source color temperatures and light colors bring different feelings: referring to the color temperature comparison table in the figure above will give you a very intuitive feeling.

3. Color rendering of LED lighting fixtures

Color rendering is actually a relatively professional parameter. The degree to which the light source presents the color of the object itself is called color rendering, that is, the degree of color realism.

The unit of color rendering index is (Ra), and the color rendering value is close to 100, which means the best color rendering. Under normal circumstances, the color rendering of LED lighting fixtures is >80. If it is an LED lighting fixture used in a jewelry store, the color rendering index of the lighting fixture is required to be higher, generally >95, so that the color and brightness of the jewelry can be truly restored. Generally, there will be clear markings on the lamps, and we just need to pay a little attention when buying lamps.

4. Glare of LED lighting fixtures

Whether the lamp glares is actually a very important indicator. If there are extremely bright objects or strong brightness contrast in the field of view, it can cause visual discomfort called glare. Glare is an important factor affecting lighting quality. Glare can cause discomfort to the human eye. This can actually be tested directly by lighting the lamp. If the light source flashes (i.e. shakes) obviously, it means that the LED lighting fixture has a certain amount of glare. At this time, you should consider whether it is worth buying.

5. Warranty period of LED lighting fixtures

Now many manufacturers claim that there is a warranty period of several years when selling LED lighting fixtures. During the warranty period, if the lamp is found to have light decay, damage or no light, you can directly communicate with the merchant for return and exchange. In fact, the standards of each merchant are not uniform, but this warranty is very important for our users, so you must ask the merchant to promise the warranty time and provide a basis when purchasing, so as to avoid personal losses and troubles in the future.

6. Antistatic ability of LED lighting fixtures

LED lighting fixtures will have some safety issues during use. LED lamps with strong antistatic ability have a long life, so the price may be slightly higher, but it is beneficial to our personal and property safety. So this point must not be ignored.
