What is oil-immersed amorphous alloy transformer?

An oil-immersed amorphous alloy transformer is a transformer made using amorphous alloy material, which is insulated and cooled by being immersed in insulating oil. Amorphous alloy is an amorphous metallic material with high magnetic permeability and low magnetic hysteresis loss, making it suitable for manufacturing high-efficiency, low-loss transformers.

Compared to traditional crystalline silicon steel sheet materials, amorphous alloy materials have higher saturation magnetic flux density and lower magnetic hysteresis loss, which means they can provide the same output power in smaller size and weight. At the same time, the oil-immersed design can provide better heat dissipation performance, protecting the transformer from moisture, corrosion, and other environmental factors.

Oil-immersed amorphous alloy transformers are typically used for high-voltage transmission, industrial and commercial applications, as well as in new energy fields such as solar and wind power. They can provide higher energy efficiency, longer service life, and less maintenance requirements, thus saving energy and reducing production costs.
