The development history of power transformers

The first transformer with a closed core and windings outside the core column was manufactured by Deli, Blasi and Zipalowski at the Ganc factory in Hungary on September 16, 1884. This transformer is a single-line transformer. The transformer has a capacity of 1400VA, a voltage ratio of 120/72V, and a frequency of 40Hz. They used the term "transformer" for the first time in their patent applications.

This equipment was exhibited at the Budapest Fair in 1885.

American Westinghouse bought several Gonard and Gibbs AC voltage conversion equipment and its group cases, and initially described the machinery and electrical appliances. In 1886, the first transformer used in AC lighting systems was put into use and was successful, and then this technology was developed sensitively.

In 1890, Dorif Dobrovsky at the AEG (formerly German General Electric Company) factory discovered a three-phase transformer.

Since the transformer was used for lighting in 1886, the AC transmission voltage and capacity have increased rapidly. After the establishment of the New China in 1949, following the rapid development of the national economy, the electric power industry has also been rapidly expanded. Especially since the reform and opening up, the speed of the electric power industry has increased.
